ENHANCED
Jessner Treatments
These innovative and proven light-to-medium depth peel
formulas effectively exfoliate with blends of lactic,
citric and salicylic acids and resorcinol, while
lightening and inhibiting pigment production with kojic
acid and hydroquinone (where indicated). These peels
help repair and reduce breakouts, control oil, soften
lines and provide a more even, smoother skin texture.
PCA SKIN Peel® Exfoliating Treatments are available in
the following formulas:
• PCA Peel® Hydroquinone Free Exfoliating Treatment
• PCA Peel® with Hydroquinone Exfoliating Treatment
PCA Peel® Hydroquinone Free Exfoliating Treatment
This peel is ideal for more sensitive skin types,
ethnic skin and/or those allergic to
hydroquinone. This treatment will help unclog
pores, clear acne and rejuvenate the skin. With
its blend of alpha and beta hydroxy acids and
brighteners, it is also an excellent choice for
maintaining even pigmentation and correcting
pigment discolorations for those with
hydroquinone sensitivities.
PCA Peel® with Hydroquinone Exfoliating Treatment
This formula is for those who want even skin tone and
have no sensitivity to hydroquinone. It will
help to quickly lighten pigment discolorations
of any kind, such as melasma and sun damage. In
addition, this peel helps inhibit active acne
and correct post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
(skin discoloration) from acne.
TCA PEELS
Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peels are often thought of as very
aggressive and producing substantial discomfort. PCA
Professional™ TCA peels are very different from the
standard. Our TCA solutions are blends formulated with
many ingredients including lactic acid, ascorbic acid
(vitamin C), plumping phytohormones and kojic and
azelaic acids to produce dramatic results without the
discomfort and downtime associated with traditional TCA
peels. Below are our TCA formulations:
• Ultra Peel® I Exfoliating Treatment
• Sensi Peel® Exfoliating Treatment

skin, Ultra Peel® I is appropriate for all skin types,
conditions and sensitivities, but is particularly ideal

aggressive exfoliation, depending on the number of
layers applied. The final result will be plump, hydrated
and ultra-soft skin.
Sensi peel Exfoliating Treatment
This gentle solution is formulated for extremely sensitive skin
and for ethnic skin types. PCA’s Sensi Peel will
strengthen and brighten the skin while helping to treat
sun damage and other forms of hyperpigmentation (skin
discoloration). It will effectively treat acne, rosacea,
aging skin and smoker’s skin. Has no tingling sensation
and leaves the skin plump with hydration.
RETINOL TREATMENTS
The cream consistency of PCA SKIN's retinol treatments creates an
occlusive barrier that allows the vitamins, antioxidants
and other actives in these rich treatments to better
absorb into the skin for maximum benefits.
• Ultra Peel® II Exfoliating Treatment
• Esthetique Peel™ Exfoliating Treatment

additional flaking and peeling, and may be used alone or
on top of any other PCA Professional™ chemical peel to
produce a tightening and brightening effect. It is a
cream mask containing natural phytohormones which plump,
hydrate and moisturize aging skin. The retinol (vitamin
A) content helps increase cell turnover to keep skin
looking fresh, while vitamin C strengthens the skin by
helping to increase the skin’s collagen and elastin
network. Ultra Peel® II works well on all skin types and
conditions.

PRE-TREATMENT
PROTOCOLS FOR SKIN PEELS
WHO SHOULD NOT HAVE A PEEL?
Anyone who has any of the following
situations should NOT have a peel at this time:
• Accutane use within the past six (6) months
• Active herpes simplex (cold sores) on treatment area
• Facial warts
• Pregnant or lactating women (except for the Oxygenation
Trio Treatment or
a Detox Gel Deep Pore Treatment)
• History of sun allergies
• Prior adverse reaction to a skin peel
• Recent radiation treatment for cancer
• Sunburn, significant sun exposure or wind-burn with the
last two (2) weeks
• Surgery or cryosurgery within the last month in the
area to be peeled
• Current use of antibiotics (may cause skin to be
ultra-sensitive).
PRE-PEEL PROTOCOLS:
The following protocols are highly recommended prior to
a peel as a more predictable outcome and better results
will be achieved if the following recommendations are
followed:
1. Before an appointment refrain from:
• Having a chemical peel (14 days prior) – results will
be unpredictable.
• Tanning in a tanning booth or in the sun (3 weeks
prior and post-treatment).
• Sun exposure or tanning booth exposure may result in
hyperpigmentation.
• Having a wax or chemical depilatory treatment (7 days
prior).
• Getting Botox® or dermal fillers injected (7 days
prior).
• Using Retin-A®, Differin®, Tazorac® and high
percentage glycolic acid products
(5-10 days prior).
2. Before an appointment DO:
• Use a PCA Skin® Clinical Care Products trial pak for
at least two weeks prior to any treatment
to prepare the
skin for a peel and to allow for maximum treatment
results. (See “Consultation”
above). The trial size
pre-peel products package provides enough products to
prepare your skin
for the peel treatment.
• Discontinue Retin-A®, Renova® or Avage® and high
percentage glycolic acid products for five
to10 prior
to your treatment, and Tazorac® for 10-14 days
post-treatment.
(NOTE: Always check with your treating physician before
discontinuing the use of any
prescription medications).
3. If lactating, pregnant or possibly pregnant, you may
have the Oxygenating Trio Treatment or a
Detox Gel Deep
Pore Treatment ONLY.
POST-TREATMENT PROTOCOLS FOR SKIN PEELS REQUIRED:
For the first TWO days do NOT:
• Apply ice or ice water to the treated areas.
• Put the face directly into a hot shower spray. Do not
use a hot tub, steam room or
sauna or go swimming.
• Participate in activities that would cause excessive
perspiration.
• Use ANY exfoliators or loofahs or other means of
exfoliation on the treated area
DO: STAY COOL!! Getting overheated internally can cause
hyperpigmentation
(brown discolorations).
The following
protocols are required after a peel.
• Use a Post Peel Pak which contains all the necessary
products to protect and enhance your
treatment. Follow
the directions for use.
• IT IS ESSENTIAL to avoid direct sun exposure and
excessive heat after a peel.
ABSOLUTELY do not go to a
tanning booth! Exposure to the sun and overheating may
cause
hyperpigmentation. Use pHaze 6+ Hydrator Plus SPF
25, or pHaze 7 Protecting Hydrator SPF25
for daily sun
protection.
• DO NOT rub, pick or pull any loosening or exfoliating
skin.
This could potentially cause hyperpigmentation.
• Discontinue Retin-A® or Renova® for seven days post
treatment, and Tazorac® for 10-14 days
post-treatment.
(NOTE: Always check with your treating physician before
discontinuing the use of
any prescription medications).
• DO NOT have any electrolysis, collagen, Botox® or
Restylane® injections, facial waxing
or use depilatories
for approximately five days after treatment.
